I’m building bonds that are short the dollar and long specific countries’ currencies that I’ve chosen. In addition, you can own UDN (an ETF). Another way is to simply own gold but it’s not always negatively correlated to the dollar, but most of the time. Owning commodities is another way to basically be short the dollar.

Karl, what are your thoughts on the weekly leading index turning over for the 1st time today. Following that indicator since it has been out, when it turns the other way the stock market follows.

I am talking about the ECRI weekly leading index. I am not saying the data is turning negative, just that we had our 1st drop in data from the week before. Looking back at the history of that data the market follows the weekly leading index.

I agree that is something we should watch closely. They’ve been very accurate and their indicators are very correlated to the stock market.
